On the afternoon of November 18, 2008, Shanghai China-Science Electric Group Scientific and Technological Association was formerly declared to be established and the first congress of the association was held. The congress members unanimously passed the Program of ECC Sci-tech Association and elected leader organization of the session. The inaugural meeting and opening ceremony was held at the Training Center in ECC Industrial Zone. Mr. Li Chong, Standing Vice-President of ECC and Vice-Chairman of the Association, presided over the meeting and ceremony and Mr. Li Xiuming, Party Branch Secretary of ECC and Chairman of the association reported the association preparations and near-future plants at the congress
Before the meeting, main leading members from Shanghai Association of Science and Technology and Hongkou District Association of Science and Technology visited manufacturing workshops, ECC Technical Central Testing Lab at ECC Industrial Zone and underway constructing ECC Hi-tech Industrial Zone that occupies a land area of about 135000 square meters with interests under the accompany of ECC high ranking leaders headed by ECC Board Chairman and President Chen Qingqian.
Mr. Wang Zhiyong, Vice-Chairman of Shanghai Association of Science and Technology, and Mr. Chen Qingqian, ECC Board Chairman and President, presided over the opening ceremony together. They disclosed a brass board wrapped with a red silk cloth. On the brass board, letters of “Shanghai China-Science Electric Group Scientific and Technological Association” were carved. Newly elected association chairman Mr. Li Xiuming gave a report on the association’s near-future work and plan. He expressed that ECC Sci-tech Association would earnestly carry out instruction of association work under the care and instruction of superior associations of science and technology to play an active role in the renovation of science and technology in the enterprise.
In the speech made by ECC Board Chairman and President, Mr. Chen Qingqian expressed his heartfelt thanks to the care, support, help and instruction from Shanghai Association and Hongkou District Association of Science and Technology.
Mr. Xiao Jiansheng, Party Secretary of Hongkou District Scientific and Technological Working Commission, and Chairman of Hongkou District Association of Science and Technology, made a concise and comprehensive speech at the meeting. He said that ECC Group had made a lead among 1300 or so enterprises in Hongkou District as to establish a first enterprise scientific and technological association in the district. It was well worth congratulation. He anxiously hope that ECC Association of Science and Technology to accumulate more and more technical elites forming a wide representative and powerful team. The team should develop ceaselessly and try hard to play a model and nuclei role in renovation activities of science and technology.
Finally, Vice-Chairman of Shanghai Association of Science and Technology Wang Zhiyong made an important speech on the meeting. He said that as an influencing non-governmental scientific and technological enterprise in Hongkou District and even in Shanghai, Shanghai China-Science Electric Group was the first one to establish an enterprise association of science and technology, also was one among only a few enterprises who established such association in Shanghai. We expressed our warm congratulations. He expressed that the municipal and district sci-tech associations would care, support and serve our enterprises as we had just done it to open a new status in sci-tech work. All of us would made our new contributions in the construction of a renovated country and in the economic construction in Shanghai.
